There are health guidelines from the EPA & FDA (in the US) as well as goals and action levels for various contaminants. There are also guidelines from international bodies and governing bodies within states. Heavy metals have the most evolved regulatory framework, with action levels for various food products and drinking water. PFAS regulation is on the horizon. Microplastic regulation is even farther out on the horizon. GroundTruth Lab, whenever it compares results to health guidelines, always uses the most conservative guidelines. Ultimately, there are NO SAFE LEVELS to consume.
